Detour today to Write Out Loud

Usually I ask the questions. But today at Write Out Loud, Ami Spencer interviews me!

So head on over to Ami’s blog, where I’ll share the most important lesson I’ve learned so far about writing a memoir.

  2. Great interview, Alexis. It was interesting to see what goes into writing a memoir. Also, I’ve never thought about the major differences between journalism and novel writing, probably because I’ve never written from a journalistic standpoint or the crazy deadlines. I’m used to self imposed ones. And working with someone constantly looking over my shoulder drives me nuts!

  3. Excellent interview, Alexis. Ami did a good job.

  4. Hi Alexis,

I’ll leave the same message here that I left there. The more I read about your memoirs, the more I really want to buy the book once it hits the book stores. This sounds really fresh and exciting. That’s what people are looking for. Fresh and new. Not the same ol’ rehashed, recycled, and repackaged stories.

  5. Hi, Alexis! It’s nice to meet you!

Looks like we have a lot in common–we’re both writers and we have spent a lot of time in Africa! I’ve mostly been down south, in Swaziland and South Africa, although I did spend a few weeks in Uganda in 2005. What parts were you in? I’m curious about your story and what you’re writing. Is it fiction? non fiction?

I have two blogs. My writing blog is kristentorres-toro.blogspot.com and my travel/missions one is ktsummer.blogspot.com. Please come on by!

  6. I’m on my way over to read it now.

  7. very, very cool!
