Some good things have happened over the last two weeks. Well, one good book-related thing in particular. I’ll share the details here on Monday. (Or you can follow me on Twitter, where I’ve already spilled the beans.)
To hold you over, a few of my favorite links from this week:
- Author Dani Shapiro (who I interviewed for the blog a while back) writes about why she does not feel like she’s exposing herself through memoir. And why a memoir is different than a diary.
- Chatter in the comments of one of Chuck Sambuchino’s posts about what makes an awesome book launch party.
- Chris Brogan asks us to rethink our web presence. Great way to dig deeper on your blog, Twitter feed, Facebook page, etc.
- Literary agent Rachelle Gardner gives us a reality check. If your project looks saleable in today’s market, she says, agents will notice.
- And an out-of-the-box story from The Globe and Mail: Why women should say “I don’t” when it comes to changing their name.
Happy weekend!

Alexis, I am so happy for you. Congratulations on Rachelle. She’s done an amazing job for Jody, as you know, and I have no doubts you will be just as successful.
