Just finished yet another revision of the manuscript! It changed and improved more dramatically this time than ever before. Super excited.
My favorite links from this week:
- How a career break can help you find your next job, from Briefcase to Backpack.
- Advice from a literary agent on how to pick competitive titles for your book proposal.
- Love this from writer Lisa Romeo: Do you write young or old? And does it matter?
- Chris Brogan offers this simple formula for better blogging. Take his advice.
- Editorial Ass(istant) explains why the first page of your manuscript is so dang important.
- A fabulous list of books about writing memoir, from literary agent Rachelle Gardner.
What’d I miss?

Alexis,
Great links, as always.
Karen
Love your roundups!
do you agree with chris brogan’s rec to blog every day, even if it’s nothing special? i go back and forth on that one.
I’m with him that frequency = clicks and return readers.
My traffic goes down significantly when I don’t blog as much, partly because it means I’m not turning up in as many Google searches (I can tell that from my analytics page.)
But you want all your content to be quality. So for more of us, I don’t think every day is realistic. I shoot for 3x a week, spread out, like on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule.
Enjoyed your links, as always,Alexis, especially Chris Brogan’s one on blogging. How exciting that your revision process is going well. Write on!

Looking forward to hearing about the new revision 🙂
Good list, Alexis. Can’t find one I don’t like. Thanks for finding them.
